A little pen and ink drawing I did back in '98. Came across it again recently and I still like the mood here. Not sure if I'd put this up on the 'net in awhile, so here it is. Javelina are the little "pigs" (though they're not technically pigs) native to the Southwest, also known as collared peccaries.

Inspired by several things, including the fine art impressionist painter Renoir and some videos I watched of bobcats recently. I also was trying to, for lack of better words, "sculpt" my subject with a pencil on paper. Drawn with a 2B graphite pencil. Inspiration hit me in the wee hours of yesterday morning and I drew this that night- also into the wee hours. But- gotta love it when artistic inspiration hits!

It's not much, but I'm trying to upload something every now and then- I want to try and find more time to draw. I sketched these little drawings of my character Furr Coyote today while waiting on something. Furr's slightly more anthro than usual in the top pic but returns to normal in the bottom two.

This is an older piece but it's still so gosh-darn sugary cute it can rot your teeth. :D I couldn't resist. Done in Painter, I believe. BTW, a big wave hello to all the familiar faces! Some great artwork here. And- thanks to the staff for letting me post work. I don't have the time to draw very often, but I'll try to do enough so I can update here more than just once in a blue moon.

Hanging On 40th Anniv. by DesertCoyote

I draw a weekly comic strip for the newspaper I work at, called "Hanging On". It's set near the Grand Canyon in Arizona. For this new comic, I took two older characters of mine, Yipper Coyote and Angelica Jay (from my older comic "Out of Oakwood Forest"), and introduced them to a new cast of characters. I did this combination traditional/digital media painting for a special section in the paper which reprinted the first 40 comic strips all at once.

Rhino Beetle and Moth by DesertCoyote

A drawing I did recently of a somewhat anthro rhino beetle and a sphinx moth. This was inspired by the fact that I found a dead rhino beetle recently- they are pretty amazing-looking. I wanted to see how "human" I could make them while still retaining that insect look. As for moths, I just like to draw them anytime I can!
