Of Course They'd Get Lost by Shoom'lah

...I mean, they only have three eyes between the two of them, and Sparky's are all wonky-like. Not that I don't love them.

For our Illustration pet portrait assignment, I did the obvious choice and drew my two Boston Terriers, Sparky and the late Sam, exploring some undefined and unspeakably rugged mountain territory whilst decked out in full Inuit regalia. Props to Reagan Lodge for inspiring this way back when.

Medium: ink, watercolour, gesso
Tags: snow dog cold arctic puppy boston terrier inuit eskimo explorers
Awkward by Shoom'lah

Our first assignment in Illustration II this semester was to illustrate a single word, and to do it in a way so that it wasn't blatant nor achingly subtle. The word crocodiles kept cycling through my head- not as the word to illustrate, but as the subject matter- and so I chose "awkward" as my word and came up with the idea of a crocodile businessman bring home a wildebeest friend from work only to find his wife preparing exactly that for dinner.

Heh. Awkward.

Medium: ballpoint pen, Photoshop
Tags: crocodile anthro africa wildebeest awkward nile businessman dinner
Teaching navigation in old Fehnnia by stevegallacci

Another Fehnnik image. Much like nautical navigation, being able to travel the trackless deserts needs accurate guidance. That and Fehnniks had an intense interest in astronomy with its connections to astrology and religion. So very elaborate instruments, along with time tables assembled over centuries of observations, could derive location and time/date with great aaccuracy.

Medium: pencil
Tags: Fehnniks
As a big fan of Elin Winkler's "Tales of the Fehnnik" I've been doing all kinds of illos and concept art.
This is a poor scan of a very large(18x24) watercolor on canvas of a Fehnnik Family on a pilgramage, finding shelterr in a rock formation during the heat of the day.

Medium: watercolor on canvas
Tags: Fehnniks
Lackadaisy Voodoo by Tracy Butler

Mordecai, Serafine and Nico. I hadn't done any proper color work with this group yet, so I decided to do a little poster-style illustration involving the three of them. That's not Serafine's usual getup - I suppose she can't pass up the opportunity to get dolled up for a special occasion, though. She's dressed as her personal version of a Voodoo mambo.
The image was sketched in pencil and painted with a tablet and Photoshop.

Medium: digital
Tags: lackadaisy cats voodoo Guns gangsters
a lot of alex by louvelex

so here's a big mix up of all the pictures i've done of alex recently. because of that scruffy face and indeterminate age, i'm still having a hard time figuring out how to make her look just right. well i shouldn't say hard- i really like drawing her :]
newest ones in top left and top right (fuzzy hat!). different scarves because i couldn't find my purple marker and wouldn't mind mixing up her scarf every now and then anyway.

i'm at home right now <3

i left the window in because...uh, it was part of one of the groups of sketches and i kind of like it.

Medium: brush pen, gel pen, pen
Tags: character Alex mutt terrier
puppy children by louvelex

i liked doing these a lot. so i'll put them up here!
all random characters that alex might run into on her adventures. the snobby king charles is named priscilla and the schipperke at the end (drawn twice in two different ways) is thora. i used to have an arctic fox character named thora but she's been turned into this since i don't draw her much anyway. i had a really snobby german pointer as well but didn't finish him in time :/

Gryfinch by GrayWolf

I've always dreamt of creating something like this, and with the fantasy fair coming up I wanted to give it a try. Both parts used where damaged. The mouse was dragged in by the neighborhood cat and was missing bits of the head, and the bird came from a breeder and died during molting and was thus missing the rump feathers.

~To whom it may concern, (please read before accusing me of anything!)
The animals used in this project died a natural cause. NONE of the animals I work on are killed for the purpose of taxidermy only and most are found along side the road or come from bird/animal breeders in the area.

Medium: taxidermy
Tags: gryphon taxidermy gryfinch
Celtic Fox ring, finished by GrayWolf

A celtic fox ring design I did for a good friend of mine, Profox. The ring has been made in gold and white gold. The ring band is around and about 8mm high. The stone is blue sapphire. The ring consists of 5 pieces that have been put together. All I can say is that the jeweler did a awesome job on my design and I'm very proud!

Medium: ink and other
Tags: fox irish ireland celtic jewelry knotwork celt knot work foxes rings ring craft keltish
